P005 → HEXVISION
2022 - Junior project & Taiwan Fashion Design Award / Fashion Design
During junior year, I delved into the impact of mental illness, spurred by 'WandaVision'. The series, echoing my desire for family amid my parents' divorce, resonated deeply. To simulate familial joy, I watched sitcoms like 'Modern Family' or 'Friends'. Wanda Maximoff's connection with sitcoms mirrored my destiny. This inspired me of my 'family' collection, portraying characters in a surreal, illusionary manner to reflect emotions and illness. I am seeking to urge acknowledgment and expression of emotions, avoiding societal pressure for constant happiness that can lead to darkness if ignored.
My runway show, 'HexVision', blends surrealism and illusion, aiming to engage psychologists and depression sufferers. Through fashion, art, and dialogue, I prompt introspection: 'What are your true feelings?'

The part of material, besides the pattern for different fabric, also has other fabric and texture, for example, leather, piping and fake hair, and they need to combine and complicate to uncomplicate.
For the collocation part, I need to consider the look proportion of , in the begin, I decided to hand cut cycle of the leather, so it can fit the pattern fabric”dot” that represent main character wanda feeling “ chaos” and created feel of snoop, then when I discuss with my design tutor, we both think this collection need more creepy element, he suggested me choose the unreal element to my design, lastly, I chose fake hair to be the creepy thing.
Pattern Design
Surrealism and illusion was my inspiration for pattern design. Therefore, I chose “Glitch” to be my main point, and combined the 80s classic pattern such as plaids and dot to the pattern design, in step one, I just mix both of pattern on my new fabric, but the effect was implicit and bored, it doesn’t shew the chaos and unstable visual, so I gave up this sample, and try a new design on my own plaid and dot pattern!
In the new pattern design, I design my own dot and plaid pattern, and I try to distortion the glitch then synthesis both, obviously, the new visual is stunning and remarkable, however, after this part, I started to chosing fabric and print those pattern, it was exciting and full of challenge, I picked three different fabric to print, such as wool, Jacquard and sequin.
